THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Season 16, Episode 24

Saturday September 8

6:30pm (G)

This week on THE GREAT OUTDOORS, Shelley goes behind the scenes on the Australian production of Billy Elliot, and former Victorian Premier, Jeff Kennett, shows Andrew around “his” Melbourne.

From the start of his reign as Victorian Premier, Jeff Kennett embarked on giving Melbourne a series of what he called “Investments for the community for the next 100 years”. Jeff shows Andrew around ‘his’ Melbourne and looks at his achievements including the Melbourne Museum, Federation Square, City Link and the Crown Casino.

Plus, Jen discovers the medieval Spanish city, Segovia; Tom visits Fiji’s newest luxury resort – the first in the area to boast overwater bungalows; Andrew has the lowdown on lastminute.com’s “secret hotels”; and 20yo artist Josh Hay shows us around his town, Sheffield – located just near Cradle Mountain in Tasmania and famous for it’s murals (62 and counting).

THE GREAT OUTDOORS is presented by ERNIE DINGO, SHELLEY CRAFT, TOM WILLIAMS, ANDREW DADDO and JENNIFER HAWKINS.
