When a woman wearing angel wings falls to her death Detective Charlie Crews (Damian Lewis) and Danni Reese (Sarah Shahi) must figure out if she was pushed or if she jumped. After interviewing a long line of witnesses about the fallen angel, they come across Jasper Williams (Steven Porter) who claims to be the angels wife.
Jasper reveals his wife was part of a Russian scam targeting American men who marry Russian brides.
Crews and Reese find themselves trying to track down the Russian ringleader of this scam, a man who appears to be untouchable.
On top of trying to solve the case, Crews also learns Constance Griffiths (Brooke Langton) was involved in a physical altercation with one of her clients.
Why did Damian Lewis sign on for LIFE?
Damian Lewis explains that he signed on for Life because, for starters, he was intrigued by Crews’ blend of mellow and intense and by the dramatic challenge Crews seemed to represent: “Here he is, re-entering the world, putting each building block on top of another, gently and slowly, while he starts to feel human again.”
There’s an overarching lure, as well. Crews is trying to untangle the mystery of how, and why, he got framed for butchering three people, as the cover-up goes on. Along with weekly cases to solve this season, “It’s a 22-hour whodunit,” he says.
