8 couples dance off - S01E10

Last week Kassy and Hilton failed to impress and earn themselves the votes of the public and then Jason, Bonnie and Matt to keep them in the competition.

Tonight, the 16 remaining couples will dance for our vote. Natalie Bassingthwaite tells us that there are some extra news about the prize for the winner that will be revealed later tonight.

Judge from the American version of So You Think You Can Dance, Mary Murphy, is joining Jason, Bonnie and Matt to add her thoughts on tonights performances.

Here are tonights show details:

Demi and Jack
Jazz (Kelly Aykers)
Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare - Brianstorm Brianstorm
Voting Details can be found here

Mary thought it was a great way to start the show but she thought Demi wasn’t hitting it as well as Jack. Matt thought Jack was a little cheesy. Bonnie liked it but agrees that there are a couple of areas for Demi to sharpen up on. Jason finishes it up saying that Demi didn’t have her head around that dance compared to last week.

Vanessa Sew Hoy and Henry Byalikov
Contemporary Disco (Sarah Boulter)
Dizzy Gillespie & Funky Lowlives - Verve Remixed, Vol. 2 - Manteca Manteca
Voting Details can be found here

Mary thought it was a little bizarre as she didn’t really see any disco. Matt thought it was the first week he’s seen Vanessa relaxing. Bonnie makes a point about Henry being 6 minutes late for rehearsal. Jason thought that for the third week in a row, Henry has stolen the routine.

Camilla and Sermsah
Contemporary (Shannon & Simon – Project Moda)

Voting Details can be found here

Mary thought they had more stage presence than anyone else tonight. Matt thought that style sat so much better on them and didn’t seem as try hard as last week. Bonnie loved Camilla’s hair and thought they both did a great job. Jason loved the routine and thinks they’re really building and getting stronger and stronger every week.

Jemma Armstrong and Rhys
Paso Doble (Jason Gilkison)
O Verona (Romeo + Juliet Soundtrack 2)
Voting Details can be found here

Mary screams that there is only one way she wants her Paso Doble done and that was it. Matt thought it was fantastic and thought he was watching a movie. Bonnie loved the dramatic beginning. Jason has no comeback when Mary says “lets have a pity party for him” when he says he now only has 30% hearing in his ear.

Stephanie and Marko
Krump (Travers Ross)
Guerilla Militia
Voting Details can be found here

Mary didn’t think Stephanie was fantastic but from Ballroom to krumping earns points. Matt thought Stephanie faked it really well. Bonnie thought they are getting better and better. Jason thought it was a big, fat mess.

Laura and Anthony
Soul Swing (Michael Boyd)
OutKast - Idlewild - Idlewild Blue (Don'tchu Worry 'Bout Me)Idlewild Blue
Voting Details can be found here

Mary thought they made it look easy. Matt thought it didn’t reach him at the table. Bonnie thought they found it really hard this week. Jason didn’t have a lot to say about it.

Rhiannon and J.D.
Tango (Fabio Robles)

Voting Details can be found here

Mary thought the first half was tremendous but the second half was deer in the headlights. Matt thought they dropped the ball badly. Bonnie felt for them as well. Jason said that Rhiannon is the stronger dancer and that JD blew it for her by forgetting his routine.

Kate and Graeme
Bollywood (Farah Shah)
Kelly Rowland - Work (Freemasons Radio Edit) - Single - Work Work
Voting Details can be found here

Mary thought they really enjoyed it and worked well together and gives them a ticket on the hot timale train. Matt thought it was really authentic and they pulled it off really well. Jason thought they were brilliant dancers in a bad routine.

Mary announces that the winner will fly to LA where they will get to work with some amazing choreographers at the Millennium Dance Complex and then have a routine put together for them by Mia Michaels and then perform that in front of talent scouts before jetting to New York to see a show.

The voting lines are now open. Tomorrow night, the results where two more will go home.
