Personal: Alamela is a Year 12 student in Byron Bay where she is studying advanced English, Maths and Science. She has worked part-time as a veterinary nurse for six years, and would like to pursue a career in veterinary science. Alamela is extremely passionate about humanitarian aid work and conservation, and her greatest fear is that “the developing world will remain without access to education.” She also thinks politics is vitally important to the world and is scared of poor leadership affecting our youth. Despite her age she has already travelled extensively by herself. A vegetarian, she’s never drunk alcohol, doesn’t touch tea, coffee or junk food and doesn’t remember when she was ever embarrassed.

Modelling/Fashion: Alamela has done some modelling in the past, and was represented by a small agency but is currently not under contract. Her favourite model is Twiggy, largely because she is an anti-fur activist like herself. Her favourite fashion trend is high waisted skirts, and she describes her style as classic, sophisticated and elegant.

    Alamela, you deserve to win this. Remember that only the most insecure ppl will have a go at those that are not afraid to be themselves. We cannot say how happy we are when the judges took note of your plight in the house and brought it up before judgment. ( they may not say names..but duhh….everyone knows who they are!! =) )

    her looks werent too great,,, her clothes were terrible and she had the absolute worst personality i have ever seen!!
    she was robotic and boring
    i think demelza and friends took it a little too far, but alamela was being a bitch herself

    Hey Alamela,

    I found you to be the most intriguing intellectual among all model contestants! I think you have such potential in the modelling world and you will only go up from here! Australia’s next top model has lost their best contestant! I really admired the way you dealt with the nasty bullies in the competition. It sounds silly but you are a fine example of a victim of bullying in that you took the attitude to stay positive, calm and unaffected. However, as the nastiness increased and your tolerance, like anybody would have, began to lessen and we saw your angst toward the situation. I can’t understand why none of the other girls stood up for you and tried to stop the constant bickering? I was waiting for one of the girls, if not more girls, to console you as you walked away from the group. How could these girls be so cruel and inhumane? It was really the most appalling thing to watch these weak minded and nasty girls gang up on you and try to cause some sort of conflict. These girls will be remembered as horrible immature bitches and you will be remembered as a poised, serene and mentally strong model. Good luck and I hope you never have to deal with such unnecessary torment again.

    of course she has the model quality – otherwise why would she be on the show and have gotten thru so well? alamela got eliminated because she wasn’t very strong at the beaver ad but demelza did so much shitter than her n alamela definitely deserved to go so much further!
    she may seem a lil outta place but that’s because she is far too elegant and intelligent and poised for it. but she definitely has the photogenic quality and the beauty. she will go so far! love you alamela! xx

    I know Alamela & she plays australian public- and continues to be the helpless damsel in distress,when in fact what Demelza did is nothing compared to what she’s done. The only thing she did well on that show, was milk the australian viewers for all their worth.

    Alamela, you are truly a class act, elegant, beautiful and intelligent. I was impressed with you from the first episode, but the way you handled the ridiculous bullying with such dignity really elevated you. You can hold your head high, whereas Demelza etc. have a permanent record on video of their shameful behaviour. When they grow up it will haunt them.
