Monday September 22 8:00pm (PG)

After 10 years a brutal attacker is tracked down abroad and brought to justice in Australia, and in a first for THE FORCE: BEHIND THE LINE, his court trial is captured for the cameras.

The former fiancée of the offender has suffered nightmares and feared for the safety of her and her young daughter since a violent stabbing attack at her home in 1998.

The day after the attack, her former partner fled Australia. He thought he’d escaped the repercussions of his callous actions, but Detective Sergeant John Hindriksen has been on his tail ever since. With the help of Interpol and the UK police, he has tracked down the offender.

Now after re-starting his life in the UK, he must face the music in Australia.

The Force follows Hindriksen as he goes to the UK to extradite the offender and is allowed rare access to the court proceedings.

This episode features interviews with the victim, police and the offender.

Also on THE FORCE, a former bus driver goes missing and there are fears for his safety and police do their best to calm down a violent pub patron before he does something he’ll regret.
