The temperature rises… and the streets of Queensland’s Surfers Paradise come alive with a party like atmosphere.
The IndyCar Series makes its debut Down Under for the Nikon Indy 300. Australia’s own Will Power and Ryan Briscoe will take on some of the best race car drivers in the world as they pilot their 650 horsepower open wheelers in pursuit of victory. Following qualifying yesterday, today sees the IndyCars take to the track to race.
And the action doesn’t stop there. Our homegrown Ford versus Holden superstars are set to continue their rivalry in the sprint style format when Round 11 of the V8 Supercar Championship Series grids up in the 4.47km concrete tunnel. Last year’s race saw Garth Tander, fresh from his Bathurst brake disaster, charge back to form to take victory in this round. Today the V8 Supercars will take on races two and three.
This is one weekend when the damage bill is high.
