I thought it could be leah that dies in 2009. Seeing that little blonde boy in the clip could be ryan – amanda and dans son that comes back to say farewell to his step mom. I dnt think it will be jack. But im still not certain on this.

the little blond boy is xavier. cuz he is going to hug his brother hugh in the clip. and why is there an australian flag on the coffin if it’s leah that’s dead? she hasn’t been in the police force or the army. it has to be either jack, roman, charlie or ross.

I don’t think it will be jack because it might be a little bit obvious. im not sure. but yes i did see the Australian flag but i also though i saw tony in the clip hugging someone at the funeral. it could be anyone but the aussie flag lets it off a bit its someone in the force.

I hope it’s not jack, hes played his part so so well and him and martha still have heaps to go on for
melody’s getting annoying though.

I believe its Jack for several reasons, i agree that its someone in the forces because of the flag on the coffin. In the 09 preview you here Martha say “i will love you Forever” obviously to Jack (presumably dying),
in the season final of 08, Jack seems to be fatally wounded by a bullet from Angelo, and also in the 09 preview/08 final you see Jack fine and well at the school formal smiling at Martha (ie, Ghost saying goodbye).

if it’s jack, he will be back. i watch a clip from when paul o’brien was a guest on sunrise late in november. and he said that he will be back. so maybe it turn out just like it did with peter baker, you know the hole witness protection thing. i really hope so.

They could just be proud to be australian. I have seen many coffins with the australian flag on them, when they had absolutly nothing to do with the force. Duuuuh!

If you remember a fairly long time ago when Noah died (yes, i am a long time fan), they showed him walking along next to Hayley at the funeral, so we were all left thinking it wasn’t him…..then it was.
Home and away are major “trickers”…..they make you think one thing, then the opposite happens. That’s tv folks.
I don’t think it will be Jack….expect a miracle recovery!!

I think it is Jack because:

1. There is an Australian flag on the coffin
2. Martha says ” I love you so much”
3. Jack was shoy, guys! And its shows Angelo just shouting “Nooo!” ANd just leaving him there for a while, doesn’t her need help? Ambulance?
4. I saw in the sneak peek preview Tony hugging a blonde-boy and I’m guessing its either Rory or Leah’s son, because Tony had a pretty good relationship with Jack
5. Paul O’brien has a 2 year contract with Home and Away
6. He’s going away for 3 months to the U.S then he said he was coming back so its probably one of those things like him being in a coma-come on guys you can be in a coma for that long!
7. And I’m also guessing that Martha gets over Jack and Roman and her start dating and then Jack ‘wakes up’ and then troubles begin.

Well I don’t think Jack dies, because he’s going away for three months and WILL be returning, but you never know I guess.
I think it’s KANE who dies. He was only back temporarily… so maybe it was Kirsty that says “I love you so much”.

Has anyone thought about Morag ? every year we are left guessing and can be tricked into many different theories and i guess we never get to confirm them untill the show is back on air but my thought is i read tv week every monday and this weeks (jan09) states that it is a major character that dies…..cast your mind back to tv week some months back with the article on morag ahe was devestated that her contract was to end she has been on the show since basically the beginning ,on and off over the yrs but the story advised it was ending and she would not be returning …..this makes me think maybe she is the major character that dies? she has worked with the law ever since she has been in her character so you would understand an australian flag on the coffin (and yes anyone can have this as they are australian) although it is a formal recognition for members of the forces etc….what do ya think or roman through reading other comments someone said there was a scene filmed where there is a car accident and roman is left unconcious????again the theories could go on and on just wanted to get my thoughts out there…..bring on jan19

Its Alf, being buried on “Stuart’s Point” also all the Old characters come back ( Sally, Steven ) so it has to be someone who has been there from the start. Alf is the only one that is close to all these people that have come back!!!! The voice saying “I love you” is Sally.

its jack because he was shot also lucas comes back at the start of the year and the Austin family move to the bay to be there when a major incident invoving Tony happens and if his son dies thats pritty major. also a member of the family of the person who dies goes off the rails until someone unexpeted shows up and they r a huge help to the person. i say that its tony that goes off the rails and thats it either lucas who comes back because he does and this would be unexpected as a few weeks befor the final tony said that lucas was treaking with mates from uni and couldn’t be contacted. if lucas isn’t the one that come and helps tony it would Gina (tony’s sister) and Zavier who u can see in the funeral sences. also u can tell that jack’s the one who dies as rory comes backand is at the funeral as he’s the one who huggs tony. the voice thta says i love u so much is martha but the voice doesn’t sound like hers as she is fighting back the tears for her husband. after jacks death martha and roman would get together and she would find out that shes pregnat but not to roman but to jack. tony will continue to have a down ward sprill and having lucas there and rachel pregnat with his child will help in some ways. his sister and 3 nephews will come to the bay and try to help him through it and just when hes recovered from the loss lucas is in a car crash but makes it out alive and angelo is cought and lucas takes revenge against him as he kept all the greive of his brother bottled up to help his dad. lucas will then start a downward sprill that will casue his girlfriend who he met in the city to help him through it. lucas will then move back to the city where the school semester just started. while all of this is going on tony and rachel still have to get a wedding orginised, look after rory becasue tony promised him that he would look after him and prepare for their baby. Xavier will start at Summer bay high and continue his romance with ruby while his older brother hugo will get together with martha once she’s dumped roman after relising that her baby was jacks. after a few months in the bay jeremy was is gina’s ex husband turns up wanting to be apart of his sons lives but xavier pushes him away causing him to get closer to tony who helps him throuh it. jack who was burried 4 months ago will come back and explain that he was in secrete survices so that the building on the development site would stop and they could prove that it was a toxic waste site and that hes so sorry for everything that hed put his family through. although a rivily guickly forms inbetween cousins hugo and jack as martha had moved on with hugo now jacks back in the picture. all jack wants is for her to be happy so he tells her to be happy and jack gets together with a new commer. this newcommers younger sister will show up a bit after her after finding out that she was adopted and her bilogical father is in summer bay but she doesn’t know who but once her father bumps into her he knows exacually who she is and will this ruin his relanship with the person he loves?

I also see on the ad’s police at the funeral, so it could either be Jack or Martha and Jack, being shot is too obvious. So i gather it is Jack’s colleagues supporting him

i don’t think it is tony who dies because if you watch the ad on tv you see tony with rachel at a funeral maybe jack does die and comes back as ghost as people have said home and away has a habbit of doing things like that or maybe jack was wearing a bullet proof vest under his shirt and the blood was fake to make it look like his dead so that he can go into witness protection or under cover as paul said on the morning show i don’t know but i do know because it has been confirmed that a main character does dies i hope it isn’t jack i hope it’s martha or leah never really liked them

it’s not tony who dies because he is at the funeral with rachel and or is it alf because it looks like he is also at the funeral the hat kinda gives it away besides i just watched the ad for home and away and in the ad it shows police officer at the funeral and it also looks like the officers were the ones who were carrying the coffin so maybe it is jack who is the one that dies i could be wrong though i really hope that it isn’t jack who dies i really like him why does home and away always have to kill off the best characters

Paul O’Brien is currently in Los Angeles, and to the best of my knowledge finished filming toward the end of last year. It was obvious that Jack would be killed – it leaves Angelo living with the guilt of killing a fellow officer and good friend, Martha struggling through her cancer battle without her beloved husband, Rachel pregnant with Jack’s step-sibling, who he’ll never get to meet; I wouldn’t be altogether surprised if Roman and Martha wind up back together. It had to be unpredictable – long running H&A fans would complain if Alf was killed off (not to mention that the theory of Kate Ritchie returning to Summer Bay – she’s not even in the country at this time and has no desire to return in the short term), Angelo; well, where would be the storyline in that? Viewers basically live to see Angelop go through the torment he will now. It was obvious – mind you, on behalf of this long-time fan, I farewell Paul O’Brein and congratulate him on the marvellous job he has done portraying Jack over the past few years.

I Agree with you Anon! I’m a long time fan of HaA but I think it’s unfair that ALL the men get killed off… Vinny (even though he wasn’t in it for ages), Dan, Flynn and now Jack. Are the writers trying to make Home and Away the place to live for women across the world who are bound to end up widowed by the time they are 30?. Why couldn’t we have found Jack and Martha settling down to life after beating the cancer and having kids. It’s a shame that this is the outcome. Why couldn’t Angelo have been killed by Tim instead. There were so many options but once again the viewers have lost out ona favourite charactor.

In England in early 2009 Jack Dies he got shot by angelo rosetta and apparently later on in 2009 Belle dies of a rare form of cancer but isn’t she pregnant? Rachel has a baby boy and she calls it Harry and he gets kidnappped apparently!
