Belle and Liam
A story in the paper alleges that Belle and Liam are having an affair. Liam asks Belle to talk to his wife to say the story isn’t true but Belle has enough stresses to deal with right now.
Irene is interviewed by the police
An intoxicated Irene is taken to hospital saying “whoever got him wasn’t going to get me… he’s dead, he must be dead”. Everyone is really confused that she’d shoot at a police officer and she hasn’t had a drink in 15 years. Lou is nowhere to be found.
Irene is interviewed by Angelo about what happened. She says after they got a letter from Belle about being in rehab, they decided to come back to the Bay. Lou sailed through the night. Irene took a couple of sleeping tablets and fell asleep watching a DVD. She woke up in the middle of the night hearing a noise – possibly a gunshot or something in the DVD but then drifted back to sleep.
In the morning, went up on deck and couldn’t find Lou anywhere. The radio didn’t work and she couldn’t find a flare or stop the engine. For days she drifted out in sea. She kept Lou’s gun for protection. She turned to drinking in desperation and fired the gun because she was scared and confused. She didn’t mean to hurt anyone.
When Angelo learns Irene once was a violent drunk, he alleges she was violent towards Lou and killed him – then arrests her!
When Belle finds out, Belle has a go at Angelo and says he loves to ruin people’s lives. Belle lashes out at him and hits him and is also arrested!
