Ratings Saturday July 11 2009

Here’s the ratings for Saturday July 11 2009, the end of week 28.

9 won Saturday night with the Video show continuing to perform strongly and their decision to show the Harry Potter movies keeping their share above 7 and 10. ABC was 2nd. It just goes to show that the commercials could do better on Saturday nights with consistent programming like ABC has rather than the mixed up offerings of mostly second grade movies they usually offer and random all-over the place programming resulting from football matches shown at different times or not at all in certain markets.

And – the final result for the week:

Well, obviously it was 7 that won the week. No other network stood a chance! 7 won every night except for Saturday, but even after Wednesday they were so far in fron, that the only way they would have not won would have been if they went of air for a night!

1st ch 7 27.5%. 2nd ch 10 23.1%. 3rd ch 9 23.0%. 4th ABC 16.1%. 5th SBS 10.4%

9 only got close to 2nd thanks to winning Saturday night. SBS way up on usual thanks to the Ashes. Imagine if 9 still showed the Ashes. It would have done much better for them than their usual programming.

This coming week, 7 will will be 1st for sure. 2nd will be 10 again thanks to the final week of Masterchef, and 9 3rd. State of Original will not help 9 as the series is already decided.
