Due to very low ratings for the reality series Australia’s Perfect Couple on Channel 9, they have chosen to edit the show down to half an hour from tomorrow night Wed Aug 12. On channel 9 itself, they are promoting the show as being on at “the special time” of 8pm but without mention of it only being half an hour.
And what is on at 7.30? Two and a Half Men! Yes, the standard 7.30 filler makes its appearance again on Wednesday night. I am yet to see an ad for this particular episode, but then again, I have to say I am probably not watching enough channel 9 to see.
So – for the next three weeks until the conclusion of Australia’s Perfect Couple Wednesday night from 7.30 is Two and a Half Men, followed by Perfect Couple at 8pm. RPA at 8.30, and at 9pm the return of the Gift, a factual about organ donation at 9pm. That is, unless the ratings dive further and they make even more changes.
My suggestion to 9 would be bring RPA forward to 7.30, the Gift at 8, Cold Case at 8.30 & 9.30 and play out Australia’s Perfect Couple at 10.30.
If you live in Adelaide, you will not see Australia’s perfect couple at all. In Adelaide, it rated proportionally worse than in any other city. It has been replaced by Rapid Response, in a move separate to all other metro channel 9’s.
Channel 9 Adelaide and Perth are owned by WIN who also own numerous channel 9 regional affiliates. Last night, channel 9 Adelaide and Perth did not air Drop Dead Diva, which the eastern state channel 9’s had on at 9.30.
Could this be a sign of things to come? WIN owned stations making some of their own programming decisions in order to start winning back some ratings that channel 9 have been losing?
