In the US it has been reported that American Idol judge, Simon Cowell will leave when his contract ends in 2010. Apparently bored with the role, Simon, who has been with the show since its start in 2002, wants its ninth season to be his last.
Recently Paula Abdul left, due to contract negotiations, and was replaced by Ellen DeGeneres. So where will this leave the show? Cowell currently hosts Britains Got Talent that discovered YouTube sensation Susan Boyle and may want to focus more on that.
Either way the format in all countries is not attracting as many viewers as before and may be time to be retired.
American Idol in 2010 again will be fast tracked to FOX8 premiering on January 13 just hours after its US airing.
