7:00am – Thursday, March 25 on ABC1
Cathleen Jones a.k.a CJ (voiced by Holly Brisley) is a funky 13-year-old who has a dream to become a big name DJ. As a teen, music defines your style, your friends and lifestyle so CJ works whenever she can at the local record store – and thanks to owner Arnis, she plays DJ gigs. From kids’ parties to the opening of the local carwash, CJ is happiest when there’s a beat.
CJ lives in the city with her family who don’t always share her passion or her priorities for music. Her rock n’ roll stay-at-home dad, Gene, and efficiency expert mum, Marsha, approach solutions to family problems from totally different perspectives. CJ’s younger sister Charley is often embarrassed by her sister’s exploits. CJ’s family are unique, rebellious and noisy. Living in the inner-city populated by ethnically diverse families, baby-boomer retirees and yuppie apartments, they stand out.
CJ’s best friends are talented, hip-hop jazz musician Si and logical Lesley who prefers hitting the books to dance parties. The relationship between CJ, Lesley and Si is the core of the show. Three friends who form a strong team – whether it’s producing a school science project, organising a dance party or putting together a video clip. CJ is always the leader. Lesley always has an interesting and informative opinion and will act on it. Si is often in the middle, keeping the peace. http://abc.net.au/iview/
