Our 3 top votes for this week are:
Adil and Mamuna
Justice crew
Adam Murby
Justice Crew have secured the 3rd spot in the final and will be joining our other grand finalists.
Brian congratulates Justice Crew, and Adam & Selina Murby get his vote to the final.
Onto Danni who’s heart is in her throat. And despite acknowledging the talent in Adil and Mamuna, she votes our magic act through. Two votes are all it takes, but Kyle thinks Adam and Selina have what it takes. Adil and Mamuna will no doubt get their lucky break with the exposure they’ve had on the show.
Now onto tonights performances trying to win your hearts for next weeks grand finalist announcements.
Brianna is up first tonight and she’s one of my personal favourites… singing “Don’t rain on my parade” by Barbara Streisand
better than I’ve ever heard, and she’s only 13 years old!! Danni “I absolutely loved it because there’s so much conviction”. “You did it again tonight, you’re just a perfect all round performer” says Brian. And onto Kyle… the hater of musical theatre. “Well I am going to rain on your parade. I think that you are too good to be just here in Australia. I think that is world class standard”. Brianna has a future on stage, there’s no doubt about it.
Like a couple of lovesick teenagers, “the grooviest grandparents ever”, The Swingchesters shined on stage last time. But this time Kyle isn’t impressed…. not enough happening on stage for our first judge. Danni loved it but felt it was a bit flat this time, and Brian applauds The Swingchesters for getting out there and giving it a go. But despite their possible farewell from the big stage, they show us, as our host pointed out “Love never fades, and life only gets better”
Parental Guidance Recommended entertain us again…. as if playing violin isn’t hard enough, these guys play music and bring us a full circus performance at the same time. Kyle points out that this is why he doesn’t have children… “because it’s messy and annoying”… but he actually shocks us and says he thinks they’re talented. We’ll see what the public voting says.
Kim Pickering Jones is our own Susan Boyle. Singing “Think of Me” from Phantom of the Opera
. Even Kyle thinks she nailed it. With a makeover and a performance that had us wondering halfway through whether it was going to out-do last week, but her last half of her peformance really blew the judges away.
What can you say about our next act martial arts “expert” Andrew Sith? Everyone is in hysterics, especially the judges. Brian can’t believe he even voted it through the first time, and his defence to why he was jumping around at the end … “It was the most boring thing I’d ever seen and then the fireworks go off, I was asleep”. I have a feeling there will be an extra spot to take up in the grand final, because this act won’t be taking it.
The Blackbirds with their soulful sounds give us another great performance, but is it exciting enough to go through to the grand final? Kyle loves it “Danni’s right, it was beautiful, that to me is like a car cd” and he thinks we’ll see an album from The Blackbirds in the next 12 months.
Our first stand up comedian to make it to the semifinals with his rendition of Enrique Eglesias “hero”
, serenading the audience and then Kyle. “Very very funny and maybe a little bit creepy as well”. Kyle thinks Matt did an excellent job, whether he’s telling jokes or singing. Brian likes him as a comedian, but really wanted more jokes. Danni is really impressed and it’s clear that if you can pull that off, you can do this professionally. He changed it up and made us remember him, and that might be just what Matt needed to make it through.
Amy Elizabeth shines on stage with the wind in her hair. Brian is pleasantly surprised at her “incredible” performance and thinks a lot more people will start liking opera after Amy’s performance. Danni points out that Amy found what set her apart and that’s “exactly what you need on this show”. It’s up to the audience now, but I think a lot of people were pleasantly surprised tonight.
Well we’ve had a range of talent tonight and it’s up to you to vote for your favourites.
