Martin and Louisa get off to a good start on their first date, but things go awry when he makes an inappropriate comment at a tender moment. Louisa calls their whole liaison off.
Her friend Holly injures her back and while recuperating at Louisa’s house, collapses and cuts herself badly on a bottle. Her condition takes a dramatic turn for the worse and the doctor’s quick actions save her life. Louisa cannot hide her admiration and he is her hero again.
As he leaves Louisa’s house Martin asks her to marry him.
