Midsomer Murders: Ring Out Your Dead

9:20pm – Saturday, May 22 on ABC1

The bell ringers at Midsomer Wellow prepare for a National Striking championship but animosity towards them in the village turns dire when one by one, they are killed off.

DI Tom Barnaby (John Nettles) grapples with the horror of at first, serial womaniser Greg Tutt ( Dugald Bruce- Lockhart) found shot in the church belltower and then a string of shocking ambushes. Tutt’s long-suffering wife, Sue, doesn’t seem too upset at his passing.

Neither does his current mistress, Rosalind Parr (Carmen du Sotoy) who makes a play for Barnaby’s offsider Sergeant Gavin Troy (Daniel Casey).

Meanwhile Barnaby has been introduced to church brass rubbing by Maisie Gooch (Gemma Jones) the parish archivist. She tells Barnaby about the murder of the village vicar in 1860 by bell ringers. Chillingly, the final member of the bell ringing team, Frances le Bon (Gwen Taylor), a champion markswoman, recalls guns were stolen from her car 10 years ago.
