Thursday Night Live (TNL) will feature a myriad of sporting stars from across the globe this Thursday night at 7.30pm live on ONE HD.
Crossing live to F1 driver Mark Webber in the UK, the TNL panel will chat about his historic win at Monaco on Sunday (Webber became the first Australian to win at the world’s premier racing circuit since Jack Brabham in 1959) and the claims by Australian Formula One Legends, Jack Brabham and Alan Jones, that he has the ability to be world champion this year.
Joining the TNL team – Bill Woods, Liz Ellis and Mark Howard – live in studio will also be Jessica Watson to recall her tales from the high seas.
Ellyse Perry will drop by to share the highlights from the thrilling Women’s World Twenty20 Final, in which she took three wickets and held her nerve in a tense last over as Australia beat New Zealand by just three runs.
Bill Woods will chat to Ian Roberts about being the first footballer in Australia to ‘come out’ as a gay man. They will chat candidly about the risk he took when he publicly revealed his sexual orientation and weathering the resulting backlash on and off the field. They will also discuss the results of a recent survey which asserts that homophobia still exists in sport.
Ian will also join Benny Elias and Adam Hawse on the NRL panel as they cross live to Maroons Legend Steve Price in Auckland to provide a full State of Origin preview.
Standup comedian Simon Kennedy will provide the laughs and a live demonstration of Ten Pin Bowlingby two time world bowler of the year – Jason Belmonte – will be sure to provide a STRIKE for viewers!
