Ratings Tuesday June 8, 2010.

Perhaps the only show that will beat Masterchef now is another reality competition show – like Australia’s Got Talent which was watched by 1.8 million last night for the first of its two week grand final. Ten remained strong though with 1.5 million staying on Ten for Modern Family and NCIS’s second last episode for its 7th season. Grey’s Anatomy – also nearing the end of its season was strong at over 1.1 million.

Nine ends up being the network that suffers with Top Gear 3rd in the 7.30 timeslot (yes, someone has to be third, but perhaps Nine should stop promoting every episode as an event or a special) and the two crime factuals Australian Druglords and Families of Crime barely managing 700,000. Viewers may have chosen not to watch Druglords assuming Nine would repeat it twice like they did last week, or they just are no longer interested in these sorts of shows.

Seven wins the night convincingly, with nearly a third of the total viewer share overall, while Ten comes second. A soft night on the digital channels means the addition of their shares to primary channel shares makes mo difference to the order for the night.
