Ratings Wednesday June 16, 2010
The State of Origin still attracts over two million, but not as many as the first game, seeing that many Sydney viewers would have been switching off before the end of the game. A disproportionally larger share watched the game in Brisbane, to see QLD make it five years in a row.
For the most part unscathed by the Origin onslaught, Masterchef remained near 1.8 million, while Spicks and Specks and the return of the Gruen transfer on ABC1 came second in their respective timeslots. Seven’s “let’s not bother trying against the State of Origin” night movie Schindler’s List averaged less then 500,000 over its four hours, based on that average, a World Cup Soccer game nearly beat the movie.
Sure – Origin rates well – but – like I said three weeks ago, half the country don’t care about it, and have to endure poor programming and repeats while it is on.
