MasterChef’s Matt Preston is lining up a gig on a talk show.
The food critic and judge of Ten’s reality show is in negotiations over a role in a new chat show by Andrew Denton’s production company Zapruder’s Other Films.
Preston would front the show in a Michael Parkinson-style role as a side dish to his current gig judging MasterChef Australia.
The fiery judge is a major part of the success of the MasterChef format in Australia, with this season rating as high as ever and pulling an enormous amount of money for Ten in advertising.
It is reported that a 30-second advertising spot during the show is said to cost upwards of $70,000.
Ten is desperate to keep Preston at the network for as long as they can and with MasterChef Junior launching later this year, the popular TV personality is set to stick around for a while yet.
