Cynthia Nixon cast in new series

Ex-Sex and the City actress Cynthia Nixon has joined the cast of The Big C, which features Laura Linney as a recently diagnosed cancer patient.  Nixon will appear in four episodes of the new series which also has Gabourey Sidibe (Precious) on board.

Stiller creating web series

Ben Stiller has signed on to create an online current affairs show with Yahoo which will feature his parents. The series, set for a length of 10 minutes or less per episode, will run exclusively on Yahoo.

Glee reality show canned

Another Glee spin-off project has been scrapped with an alleged reality show heading to the trash can along with any movie ideas. The reality show was planned back in January with fans asked to submit videos of themselves before a select group of finalist would be asked to compete with one another in an American Idol-style talent show in order to win a role on Glee.

Foxx working on new mob project

Jamie Foxx is currently working on a new mafia TV series. The actor is involved in the project entitled Tommy’s Little Girl which would focus on an aging Mob boss and his relationship with his daughter.

Desperate Housewives switch

One of Desperate Housewives child actors will be recast ahead of the show’s seventh season. It is not known why the switch will be made.

Mos Def joins Enlightened

Rapper/actor Mos Def has signed on to appear in the upcoming comedy series Enlightened. He will slot in to the HBO series alongside Laura Dern who stars as a woman who changes her life after a spiritual awakening, complicating her relationship with family and friends.
