The Australian straight-talking, perfectly coifed Tabatha Coffey is back to transform the lives and businesses of salon owners in the second season of Tabatha’s Salon Takeover, premiering Monday, July 5 at 8.30pm, exclusive to FOXTEL’s Arena channel.
Tabatha rose to television fame as a contestant on the first season of Shear Genius, and since that time she has increasingly earned respect for her unapologetic, brutally honest approach. Love her or hate her, Tabatha’s expertise is indisputable. She started as a salon assistant at the age of 14 in Surfers Paradise in Queensland, went on to work in London and the US and is now the owner of Industrie Hair Gurus salon in Ridgewood, New Jersey, with a huge clientele and long waiting list.
This season on Tabatha’s Salon Takeover, Tabatha takes the desperate calls for help from salons, in Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami, that literally stand to lose everything. They will hand over the keys, but will they all step up to Tabatha’s strict business and styling standards in order to save their livelihood?
Her critical eye will examine each salon’s customer service, cleanliness, professionalism, and overall styling techniques and at the end of the takeover, Tabatha will again make her recommendations for which stylists should be promoted in the salon, and which ones might need to take a step back.
In episode one, Tabatha, dressed in her signature all-black attire and simply, flawlessly styled hair, visits Orbit Salon in Chicago, where owner Eddie Cheung is US$700,000 in debt but treats his business more like a rubbish dump than a hair salon. His lack of passion and passive aggressive management has lost him the respect of his staff and now he stands to lose everything. If Tabatha doesn’t do something fast his salon will be out of business.
Tabatha’s Salon Takeover Season 2 premieres July 5, Mondays at 8.30pm, exclusive to Arena.
