Tonight’s MasterChef evictee has been leaked by a Sydney newspaper, leaving both fans and the Ten network outraged.
The leak came from the North Shore Times, which circulates in the Northern suburbs of Sydney, despite the press being under a strict embargo.
The paper was due for release tomorrow but was distributed to several points early this morning.
“It is true, basically the North Shore Times had assured us that [the paper] would not be available until Friday, would not be on sale until Friday … so they have broken an embargo,” a Ten spokeswoman said.
“They are now getting phone calls from people who don’t want it ruined so … we are trying to work with them to minimise it.”
The spokeswoman has said th network will be reviewing its future deal with the paper.
“We do expect papers to respect embargoes. We want viewers to watch it and see what happens,” she said.
