Drinking heavily and stuck as the cook for a seedy rock club, Carl desperately hopes that a romance with Sophie, a Greek-Cypriot barmaid, will alter his luck.
Instead, the death of his drug-dealing, Turkish kitchen hand embroils him in a black comic nightmare involving an inconvenient body, a sadistic bouncer, and Sophie’s Club-owner finance.
This being a comedy, though, Carl eventually ‘sees the light’ and resolves to change his life.
