Junior Masterchef luanches with a bang with over 2.2 million tuning in, doubling the number of people watching what for me, was the most boring X Factor episode so far. I had hoped, that at the end of a painful 90 minutes, we would have found out the top 12 – it really did not have to go that long. For the record, I watched Junior Masterchef live, then played back X Factor.
Back to the point – ratings. The return of Midsummer Murders on ABC1 blitzed the 8.30 timeslot, outdoing all other options, with Ten’s Offspring following in second. Nine’s movie Iron Man at nearly 900,000 easily outdid Seven’s Bones repeats.
New episodes of Modern Family are finally getting back the ratings they deserve, while Nine’s newest imported police based factual Hot Pursuit did well at 1.2 million.
Sunday nights are back to a three horse race now as Junior Masterchef helped put Ten second in channel and network shares and pushed Seven to third in both. Seven further not helped by all repeat programming after 9pm. Ten won all demographics while Nine won the night overall. In digital channels, another F1 instalment helped ONE to a 3.3% share, while GO was at 4.2%.
