Former McDonald’s manager Michael Jackson is just six months out of NSW Police College. He’s on patrol in inner-city Leichhardt when an urgent radio call comes through: masked robbers have held up a bottleshop attendant at gunpoint, before escaping in a high-powered sports car. The ter- rifying moments are captured clearly on CCTV footage. No sooner has MJ arrived, than a second call comes through. The same men, in the same car, have robbed a second bottleshop in the next suburb.
Mick Newman is based on the NSW North Coast. He’s been on the beat for a year now, long enough to know that even the most simple domestic dispute is potentially dangerous for an un- wary officer. Today, he’s called out assist a woman who’s been assaulted by her husband. Inside the house, police make a discovery every officer fears.
And at Police College, Nina is struggling to fit the typical image of a police officer: She’s loud, covered in tattoos, and has bleached blonde hair. In an environment that relies on team work, she’s getting noticed for all the wrong reasons. Now, she has to make a decision that could determine if she has a future in the force.
