The Force and Border Security win their time slot in overall people but the Block beats them all in the demos. RPA at the earlier time for one week only reached 932,000, doing better than City Homicide. The return of the Librarians did well for ABC1 with 726,000. Perhaps a sigh of relief at Ten, with last night being the last full night of Commonwealth Games coverage with only around half a million watching. Again most of the nights’ 7mate schedule makes it into the top 50 for 16-39’s – easily outdoing GO in GO’s own target demographic – new episodes of American Dad and Family Guy win over heavily repeated Two and a Half Men on GO in 16-39, but in total people, Men does better.
In shares, Seven won the night overall while Nine came second. ONE was again top digital channel for the last full night of Commonwealth Games coverage while GO was second followed by 7mate. Shares for SBS ONE were below those three digital channels. Ten was down near 13%, only slightly higher than ABC1.
It should be of major concern to SBS that their main channel – available to everyone – is frequently being beaten in shares by not just one, or two, but sometimes up to three commercial digital channels – which are NOT available to everyone. The performance of 7mate especially as it is only available on HD, whereas ONE has an SD channel, while GO! is SD only and available to most anyone with a SD tuner as well as metro Foxtel subscribers on channel 129 (Syd, Melb, Bris).
ABC News 24 enjoys a boost – at 1.0% – thanks to continuing mine rescue coverage while SBS TWO is just behind at 0.9%.

The mine rescue coverage means that ratings for daytime shows in some cases is a mix of people watching the mine rescue and regular programming. A show scheduled to air at 2pm for example will show ratings for 2pm in all local time zones but when live breaking news replaces the show, the ratings for 2pm AEDT live then spread over shows between 11am and 2pm for different cities
