Another programming change to Conan.
From next week, the Wednesday night episodes of Conan will move forward to start at 11pm, not 11.30pm. Friends, originally scheduled for 11pm, before Conan, will now be seen after Conan at 12 midnight.
That now means that Conan is on at a different time almost every night. Makes it hard to get into a routine.
Wednesdays – 11.00pm.
Thursdays – 11.30pm
Fridays – 12.00am (midnight) Nov 19, 12.30am Nov 26*
Saturdays – 11.30pm
* Friday time will vary to fit into movies.
In my opinion, a show like Conan should be on at the same time each night it is aired. 11pm is a good time to start, and matches the time it starts in the US. The move to 11pm was easy enough to do for Wednesday night, but they should do the same for the other nights.
Some minor programming shuffling, coupled with careful planning and management of how movies fit in on Friday night to allow an 11pm start for Conan would easily overcome the problem and see the show have a consistent start time each night it airs.
If they want shows like Conan to succeed, they really have to commit to airing it at the same time each of the four days it is on. Even – 11pm Wed and Thur, 11.30 Fri and Sat would be OK.
