The Simpsons snipes at hand that feeds

The Simpsons has taken another jab at its network, Fox, with a slogan on the side of a Fox News helicopter reading “Unsuitable For Viewers Under 75.”  The jab follows a similar one the week before that read “Not Racist, But #1 With Racists” leading Fox News political commentator Bill O’Reilly to hit back: ”Continuing to bite the hand that feeds part of it, Fox broadcasting once again allows its cartoon characters to run wild…pinheads? I believe so.”

Longoria developing three pilots

Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria is currently in the process of developing three separate pilots for various television projects. The actress and her production company are involved in two projects including comedy pilot called Parenting By Committee and a dramatic mini-series to go along with a project she is working on for ABC.

Franco and Hathaway to host Oscars telecast

James Franco and Anne Hathaway have been selected to host next year’s Academy Awards ceremony, which will take place on February 27. Hathaway will be making her fifth appearance on the telecast while for Franco it will be his second.

Elton Johns attacks talent shows again

Elton John has lashed out at television talent shows again, this time berating the producers of the shows for treating their contestants like “products”. John said: “What’s the psychological damage going to be when you’ve humped and dumped them, and the next one comes along? They’re a bit like products, to be honest with you.”

Twilight actor joins new McG series

Twilight actor Jackson Rathbone has signed on to play the lead in a new series from producer McG, whose past producing credits include The O.C., Supernatural and Chuck. Rathbone will play a teenager who doubles as a spy in the new series entitled Aim High.
