Now in series 5, Emma (Miriam McDonald), the teenage daughter of Degrassi Junior High alumnus Spike, (Amanda Stepto) and her schoolmates encounter the same pressures, temptations and issues that their parents’ generation did.
Degrassi: The Next Generation explores the issues affecting teens as they struggle between being kids and being adults – be it a first kiss, coming to terms with new siblings in a recently blended family, or deciding whether or not to cheat on that French test.
Episode 5 – Weddings, Parties, Anything After all the craziness of last year, Craig (Jake Epstein) has one overriding goal: no drama. He’s focused on his friends, his family, his studies, and his band. Jimmy is back on guitar, Marco is holding down the bass and a new addition is rocking the drum-kit… Ellie Nash (Stacey Farber).
Ellie seems to think everything about Craig is great. But she denies point blank she has a crush on him. Craig seems to be falling under her spell until… an old flame re-enters Craig’s atmosphere: Manny Santos (Cassie Steele) – still in crisis since her father kicked her out.
And as Craig gets sucked into Manny’s orbit Ellie fears the worst. Things come to a head when Manny crashes their wedding gig and steals the spotlight. Will Ellie come clean in time and confess her crush to Craig? Or will she lose him forever to Manny.
