ONE HD adds documentaries and more movies to its line up.

First it was Sunday night movies that were loosely related to a sports theme, now ONE HD is adding documentaries to its prime time schedule in the hope to help lift ratings.

Called ONE Adventure, this Tuesday night (Feb 8th), ONE HD will be airing AX Men (also been seen on 7mate) at 8.30pm and Black Gold at 9.30pm about Oil in Texas. Sports Tonight follows at 10.30pm. The new line up has been heavily promoted on both Ten and ONE itself.

Movies on ONE now also move into Wednesday nights, with the movie Extreme Ops airing Wednesday night at 8.30pm. Movies continue at 8.30pm Sundays as well.

Thursday nights include WWE at 8.30, and UFC at 9.30. Friday nights have live NBL, while Saturday nights is live AFL with the NAB cup.

ONE Adventure and ONE at the movies now occupy a total of three nights on ONE, at 8.30pm in all markets. ONE HD is no longer a national live feed, with prime time weekday programming the same in all markets. Only on the weekends (Friday and Saturday nights) does ONE appear as a national live feed, as live sport is aired.

The idea of introducing non-sport but closely related programming to help lift ONE’s channel shares, and therefore help lift Ten as a network has been discussed here. Having a stable lightly prime time line up when there is no live sport to air is will also help ONE HD gain some ratings ground.

ONE is more often than not amongst the three lowest ratings channels, with shares regularly below 1%.
