Jail time for former Biggest Loser contestant

 

Jail time has been given to a Brisbane man who was kicked off The Biggest Loser after being charged with possessing child pornography.

The 28-year-old pleaded guilty to the four charges of using the internet to access child pornography and one count of possessing explicit material.

Ward was edited out of last year’s season of the reality show after the charges arose in January 2010.

Both Ward and his sister, who was also competing, were edited out with Channel Ten saying they had to do so “given the seriousness of the charges.”

Ward has been sentenced to two years in prison.

    I don’t know about you, but I would have kept Derrick Ward in the show. I’m not obsessed with child porn, but I think Shine Australia (I think that’s the company who makes the local version of TBL here) should be ashamed of themselves for editing him out of the show. If Russell Crowe had been there during the making of Season Five of TBL, I’d have him beat the stuffing out of the editor for that!

    BTW, (because I read about it in a TV Week article), two of the sisters of the Moon family on TBL: Families are lesbians! Admit it, they are! I will respect their choice/decision to be lesbians. Oh and Shine Australia, if you edit them out of the show, I’m gonna tell the Australian Sex Party, the Australian Gay and Lesbian Alliance, and also Ricky Martin (thank god he told us he’s gay this time!) about this.

    I know that Brisbane man may be doing jail time, but as a TBL contestant, he deserves better than to have his scenes edited from TBL.

    You can do better than this Shine Australia, considering that your usual product placement tour de force Masterchef Australia is starting a day after the Logie Awards this May. Oh and if I hear you edited another contestant from one of your shows for something he/she did in the past or sexuality, I’m gonna go to Russell Crowe’s site/facebook page and ask him to come over and beat the crap out of the editor for this. Clear?!

    Big difference between child porn and lesbianism. Are you even watching TBL this season?

    Those involved in child porn deserve all they get – and then some. TBL last year were right to remove them from the show. 

    Lesbians and gays deserve to be treated NO DIFFERENTLY than straight couples – equal rights. What are you even suggesting????

    The fact that there are lesbians in TBL 2011 is not hidden at all.

    This story relates to the previous season – 2010 - in any case.
