Australians spending more time in front of the TV

Here are some interesting stats from the latest OzTAM data.

Daily TV viewing (Metro): 3h09m

This figure is an increase of 7 minutes on last year, 5 minutes of which is growth in free-to-air.

Total TV viewing (Regional): up 20 minutes per day, 17 minutes of which is growth in free-to-air.

By the end of 2010, free-to-air TV’s share of primetime metro audiences had risen to 65.8% thanks to the boost from the new digital multi-channels.  That figure was a small increase of 0.8% while Pay TV dropped 0.4% to 15.5%.

The free-to-air regional share grew to 57.9%, an increase of almost 2%.
