While it’s no secret that Border Security has proven to be a ratings hit over its eight-year history, Australia’s Customs and Border Protection Service have conducted a little secret research to see for themselves.
The Customs agency commissioned some secret market research as part of a new review to ensure that its involvement in the reality show was worth it.
The research found that the show had transformed Australians view towards Customs in a positive manner.
The survey of 800 people found that 96 per cent of viewers thought Customs did an important job for the country and 83 per cent believed Customs helped “keep Australia safe”.
Further stats to emerge showed that 82 per cent believe the show to be informative and 78 per cent agree that Border Security is a realistic TV show.
