Home & Away - Tuesday 28.6.11

Well well, looks like Romeo and Indy are officially married. I am actually in shock. Yes, it was Hawaii, and the wedding was lovely and simple and it all looked beautiful, but seriously? Is this something that would really happen to anyone else?

The episode starts with Romeo and Indy breaking the good news to Roo, who is happy, but kinda freaking out at the same time. After offering several hundred reasons as to why they shouldn’t get married, and trying to outsmart them on technical things like the marriage licence, there isn’t much else Roo can do but sit back, have a champagne and scream “whoo!”.

Or I guess there is one other thing she could do, and that’s ring Sid in the middle of the night to tell him of his daughters impending wedding. Sid is up, out of bed and on the way to the airport at lightening speed. And then seems to hop on some sort of ‘rocket plane’ operated by Jetstar. Roo tells him on the phone that the wedding is in less than 12 hours, and yet somehow Sid managed to get from summer bay to the airport in the city (everyone is always running away to the city so I presume its far), get a ticket, get on the plane and be in Hawaii before the wedding starts. Um, not sure if anyone did any research on this before hand, but the flight from Sydney to Hawaii is about 11 hours… well thats awkward.

So, Roo has tried to stall them a number of times but it just isn’t happenning. These two are fairly intent on this whole marriage thing. Sid gets to the wedding with his angry face on, tells Indy she is making a mistake, but suddenly has a change of heart and decides that the whole thing is ok. Phew, that was lucky, I don’t think they have a part for ‘if anyone objects, speak now’ in a hawaiian wedding. The wedding goes off without a hitch, the couple look amazing both dressed in white, and the setting is perfect.

After the ceremony, Sid goes into brooding mode and Roo asks him if he even knows what love is. Why answer when he can show her by going in for the big kiss? Sid and Roo kiss for like a second before she pushes him away and asks what he is doing. What about Marilyn? Remember her, the woman you were in bed with before getting on the plane? Sid retaliates with the old “I know you kissed me back”, (um seriously you kissed for a micro second, there was no time for her not to kiss you back) but Roo is out of there. That’s right Sid, you throw that Hawaiian lay down in disgust.

Oh well, looks like there is trouble in paradise for the adults. The kids however, well their paradise is perfect.
