Tomic match sparks record ratings on 7TWO

Aussie tennis sensation Bernard Tomic’s gallant loss to world No. 2 Novak Djokovic has ignited the best ever ratings for 7TWO and any digital channel to date. 

The average national audience of 718,000 viewers was more than triple that of the same day on Channel 9 last year.

A peak audience of 909,000 tuned in after 10pm AEST to see the Gold Coast teenager go down 6-2, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 to the Serb.

An average audience of 444,000 stayed up late to watch the remainder of the match on Channel 7 after 11pm.

The next best ratings for 7TWO since launch was the Royal Wedding which garnered an average national audience of 519,000.

In total the telecasts of 7TWO and Channel 7 reached more than 2 million viewers for the Tomic vs Djokovic  match.
