Susan is spending waaaaay too much time with Jim at the moment. OK, so he’s dying of cancer, but shouldn’t he have some family and friends of his own? Susan should know it’s a little weird, especially because they’ve known each other for about five minutes. Ah well. They seem to share a love of classic cinema, so all is well. (Although I would be worried about Jim’s obsession with James Stewart).
So while Susan’s hangin’ out with Jim as he gets chemo, Karl’s managed to find a good deal on a trip to South America that leaves in 4 weeks. He also managed to dump everything about the trip on poor Lucas, who really doesn’t care, now that he’s rich. But Susan has told Karl to book for a later time – because she has to go to chemo with Jim every week. Seriously, I’m sure he’d be fine going alone for a couple of sessions, while his 5-minute friend went on a holiday. And Susan has covered it up with a lie. Oh dear.
Summer tries to convince Paul to write a retraction on the community garden article. Come, on Summer, it’s Paul. Paul flippin’ Robinson. Nothing will change that man’s mind. So, like father like son, Andrew convinces her to think like Paul and she decides to hack into his computer and publish the original article online. Not sure if that will actually do anything, but we’ll go with it. And Paul’s not happy about it – Summer has lost her internship! No! Well, it’s not actually a real job for a high-school student so she shouldn’t be too upset.
