FOX SPORTS will deliver three-and-a-half hours of LIVE and EXCLUSIVE coverage of the decider, commencing at 6.30pm AEST on FOX SPORTS 3HD & FOX SPORTS 3 this Saturday, July 9.
In a fitting finale to an unparalleled season of Super Rugby, two of the competition’s most potent attacking forces will collide for the ultimate prize in provincial rugby when the Quade Cooper-inspired Reds take on the most successful team in the tournament’s history, led by an army of All Blacks including Dan Carter and the explosive Sonny Bill Williams.
The seven-time champion Crusaders have been fuelled by the spirit of their earthquake-ravaged home city of Christchurch, where they have been unable to play all season, and are now just one victory short of their most emotional triumph. For the Reds, a fairy tale finish is in sight to a season that has captivated the nation and embodied the fighting spirit of their own disaster-stricken region.
Saturday night’s coverage begins when The Rugby Club host Nick McArdle joins former Reds and Wallabies stars Tim Horan and Brendan Cannon from the hosting position at Suncorp Stadium for a one-hour pre-game show from 6.30pm AEST. The panel will break down the key individual match-ups, provide in-depth interviews with Reds Coach Ewen McKenzie and Crusaders legend Justin Marshall and look at both teams’ journey to the Final.
Following the pre-game show, rugby’s leading voice, Greg Clark, will once again be joined by a team of the game’s foremost analysts in Phil Kearns, Greg Martin and Rod Kafer to call the action from a sold-out Suncorp Stadium from 7.30pm AEST.
The FOX SPORTS coverage will continue throughout the post-match celebrations to include the inaugural presentation of the Super Rugby trophy and capture all the reaction from both camps.
As the anticipation continues to build ahead of the season’s biggest clash, FOX SPORTS will showcase a special LIVE Super Rugby Final edition of The Rugby Club on Thursday night from 8.30pm AEST on FOX SPORTS 1 HD & FOX SPORTS 1. The studio team of Nick McArdle, Tim Horan, Brendan Cannon and Rod Kafer will provide a comprehensive preview of the decider, as well as crossing LIVE to Greg Clark and Greg Martin at the Normanby Hotel in Brisbane to absorb the atmosphere ahead of the biggest match in Queensland Rugby history.
