Season Three of Project Runway starts on Monday, with a new host, a new mentor, and 12 fresh contestants.
The gorgeous Megan Gale is taking over as host and judge where Kristy Hinze left off, in season three of the reality competition for dress designers. As a fashion designer and supermodel, Gale says, “I feel like this is an area I can comment on with a little bit of authority, and it just felt right.”
New judge Kirrily Johnston will bring her first hand knowledge of design aesthetics to the cutting table, with her label selling in stores across Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA and Asia. IMG Fashion global production director, Jarrad Clark brings his years of looking after 12 different global fashion weeks to the judging panel.
The forever sunglassed Alex Perry will fill the gorgeous boots of Henry Roth. As one of Australia’s most successful and respected designers, Perry says he will offer the contestants thoughtful advice in an effort to make their designs more appealing to the judges. ” As a mentor, I’m not forcing opinions on the designers. I’m more like a second set of eyes. Sometimes you get a bit too close to your own work, so it’s great to have someone say ‘consider the proportions of that’ or ‘maybe inject some colour’ – just that fresh perspective that willl help them edit.
Guest designers this season include Dannii Minogue with her Project D partner Tabitha Somerset, Carla Zampatti, Camilla Freeman-Topper and Collette Dinnigan.
