Tuesday, 23 August at 7.30pm on ABC News 24

To Australians, she was one of the country’s best-loved artists. To many young painters and musicians, as well as galleries large and small, she was an extraordinary mentor and benefactor.

To many of her friends, she was Oll.

As a tribute to Margaret Olley, ABC News 24 will be airing a 30-minute special on the eve of the state memorial service being held for her.

‘Oll’. The Life & Art of Margaret Olley is presented and produced by Scott Bevan.

He speaks to a few of her closest friends, family members, and those who have been helped by her generosity and support, including Ben Quilty, who won this year’s Archibald Prize with a portrait of Miss Olley, and the Australian Chamber Orchestra’s Richard Tognetti. They share stories and anecdotes, laughter and sadness, about the life and art of the remarkable Margaret Olley.
