Fox Sports gearing up for Hyundai A-League launch this weekend

The Hyundai A-League welcomes home two of the nation’s greatest exports for its seventh and most anticipated season when Harry Kewell and Brett Emerton make their debut in a blockbuster opening round clash this weekend.

FOX SPORTS will be the only place for fans to witness one of the year’s biggest spectacles when Kewell’s Melbourne Victory hosts Emerton’s Sydney FC at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.

The clash between the league’s two most successful clubs headlines a dream start to the first Hyundai A-League season played in the new ‘football window’ from October through April.

FOX SPORTS will deliver LIVE and EXCLUSIVE coverage of all 142 matches in the 2011/12 season, spanning the nation to provide high definition coverage of Australia’s premier football competition.

To welcome the most exciting season in the league’s history, FOX SPORTS has bolstered its on-air line up and has added some fresh faces to the game’s most recognised commentary team.

Australia’s number one football commentator Simon Hill will lead a team of the game’s most respected authorities and popular personalities including Andy Harper, Mark ‘Bozza’ Bosnich and Robbie Slater.

Alongside them will be hosts and presenters Adam Peacock and Melanie McLaughlin, plus a raft of expert analysts and commentators spread across each Hyundai A-League match day including Mark Rudan, Michael Zappone, Jamie Harnwell, Nick Meredith, Robbie Thomson and Mike Cockerill, plus sideline reporters Lara Pitt and Brenton Speed.

In an opening weekend packed with rivalry matches, none will be bigger than ‘The Big Blue’ between Melbourne Victory and Sydney FC, which will be immediately followed by the Grand Final replay between Champions Brisbane Roar and Central Coast Mariners.

Round ball fans will be entertained and informed throughout the season with weekly magazine show FOX SPORTS FC re-launching in a fresh format. Sports aficionado and multi-media personality Andrew Maher will host the revamped show alongside Andy Harper and Mark Bosnich, joining the biggest names in football for a weekly discussion of the issues affecting the game both locally and abroad, with in-depth analysis of the Hyundai A-League and Barclays Premier League.

Fans can also get involved in the action this season by registering their team in the foxsports.com.au Fantasy A-League competition, offering them the chance to win a brand new Hyundai Accent 1.6L Hatch and other fantastic prizes. The FOX SPORTS website will be a regular hub for news, highlights and expert opinion from the FOX SPORTS commentary team right through until Grand Final day.

Once again FOX SPORTS News will continue to break the biggest news in football, with round-the-clock coverage of every move in the Hyundai A-League season on channel 513.
