Following two tricky challenges in the MasterChef kitchen tonight, Aya, 11 (NSW), Caroline, 11 (NSW), Jade, 9 (QLD) and Hannah, 10 (VIC) left the competition with their heads held high, a swag of prizes under their belt and some magical memories.
The eight contestants with the lowest points on the Junior MasterChef scoreboard faced off against each other in the first challenge, cooking their own versions of “The Perfect Roast”. After presenting a delicious Tarragon and Paprika Roast Chicken, Tom won the judges approval and his position in the competition was secured. Following closely behind him was Alysha who presented a mouth-watering Roast Chicken with Balsamic Glaze.
The remaining six contestants faced a second and final challenge, a pressure test; their last opportunity to convince the judges they should stay in the competition. Guest chef Tony Bilson set the ultimate culinary test, Lobster Risotto with Chanterelles and Truffles. Battling for survival, Bilson’s dish tested these six talented young cooks to their absolute limit.
Junior MasterChef airs Sunday and Mondays at 7.30pm on Ten.
