The US 2011/2012 television ratings season returned Monday September 19, 2011. With the new season now well underway, here is the Throng guide to US premiere dates and when these shows will air in Australia.

Returning shows are listed first with their US premiere date and time, and what channel and when the series is likely to air in Australia.

Following the list of returning shows are new titles, with when and what channel they will air in Australia, if known.

ORIGNAL COMMENT: New episodes will air on Nine, but we have alot to catch up on before the new season can be aired – so it’s a no to fast tracking.

I believe there are still some episodes of the previous season not yet aired in some markets – hence the comment. However, Nine now indicate new episodes will air from October 3, 9.30pm.

    Given the last episodes of Vampire Diaries screened on GO! after midnight, I’d be very surprised if they even showed the third series at all.

    For CSI Nine have aired right up to and including the lastest finale episode (so they could fast track if desperate) but yes, they have yet to play out the last few eps of CSI: Miami’s latest season.

    All good we get fast tracked shows this month but when the ratings period here finishes, we then have to wait till March (or is it Feb?) next year to see the remainder of the show.  It’s silly.

    Can you please find out from 10 and 7 if they’re showing the AFL finals live on their 2nd Channel?  From memory, when the final series started last year, 10 especially, put all the games on delay (against the NRL).  And it doesn’t look good this year as One had dumped the AFL altogether.

    Guess the Friday night, Saturday night games are the ones I’m concerned about.

    Hi Laz, No – looks like AFL finals only on main channel at this stage. So far, AFL on Seven airs at 8.30 in all markets, but in non-AFL markets they sometimes will push that back to 9.30, depending on the teams.

    As for Ten, still showing TBA for Saturday night this week. They may show live, but will have to wait and see when they send out amendments.

    Friday night AFL Qualifying final 2, Geelong Vs Hawthorn will air at 10.30pm in Sydney (and presumably Brisbane), 8.30 in AFL markets.

    On Sunday, Elimination Final 1 Carlton Vs Essenden 2.30pm on Seven.

    Now are you really really sure about Five-0 fasttracking this time.  You said last week it wont be till 2012 and now you’re saying it’ll be fasttracked.

    I have been getting in contact with Ten on Facebook and they have told me they’ll let me know when they’ll be a date.  But I’m really pretty sure it is likely to happen because they showed new sign posts last Friday night during the Repeats of Five-0 with Alex & Grace.

    Ten picks up The Finder.  A Bones Spinoff that’s ridiculous even though Seven showed the pilot during the Bones season 6 season.  How is that going to confuse viewers with that.

    I have to agree I’m disappointed with NCIS: LA possibly wont be screened till 2012 is due to the fact that Five-0 & NCIS: LA will be doing a crossover later in the year.  If Ten will be fasttracking Five-0 it’s going to confuse fans if a storyline is involved with both shows at the same time

    I mean, It started off being fast tracked last year (Then we somehow got seperated from the US), and I noticed that channel 7 are trying hard to get through ‘Suspect Behaviour’ cause its only been on for what, 5 weeks? 2 of those weeks there have been double episodes…

    Seven has confirmed Geelong v Hawthorn on Friday will be shown live across Victoria, starting at 7.30pm. Sunday’s game between Carlton and Essendon will also be shown live across the state, starting from 2pm.
    Re: fasttracking Two and a Half Men. Nine may consider showing the comedy on Tuesdays given it has been its weakest night for most of this year. The new episodes could undermine the ratings of The X Factor results show and boost Nine’s audience share, even though it may not help the network winning the night.

    Good to see about CSI being fast-tracked, though I’m not that interested, I do want to see how Ted Danson finds his spot on the show.

    Nine should get on to airing the last three episodes of CSI:Miami pronto so they can air them both together again or at least within days of each other.

    Loz, I did hear Ten were going to fast track The Good Wife but I can say it is not in the schedule any time before October 1. An air date in the week starting October 2 is possible – you’ll find out if that is true or not next Sunday Sept 25 (or maybe earlier if Ten advertise on air).

    Ten has been playing sneak peek of Ringer every night this week, but only after 10.30pm (I don’t know why). This suggests that the series will get the 10.30pm timeslot when it starts in October or November.

    Unfortunately, no news for Good Wife. Looking more like a 2012 return now even though there are a few timeslots it could fit into rather than Law & Order: SVU repeats. Also new eps of Law & Order: SVU available too. Thinking Ten are hanging on to what they can at the moment.

    Charlie’s Angels has been cancelled in the US after it came fifth in its timeslot in the 18-49 demographics. Reports suggest the ABC network may play out episodes that have already been completed.
