We left off at the end of season 7, with the ever lovable Turtle in risk of losing his Tequila business, Mrs Ari leaving Ari, Drama about to start his new animated show and Vincent continuing his downward spiral after his ill-fated romance with (real life) porn star Sasha Grey and a debilitating cocaine habit.
There was an intervention held by all who loved him with a disastrous outcome. Vincent crashed a party held by Eminem, resulting in Eminem assaulting him and Vince being taken to hospital, where police find a bag of cocaine on him.
In the season 8 premiere of Entourage, we are three months down the track. There are a few shocks as to what has happened to the guys – some with fair sadness, some just showing us this is really the last season. There are definitely loose ends already being tied up. Yet while season 7 ended dramatically and quite violently, season 8 is all about serenity, so far.
All the issues that we were left with in the final two episodes are dealt with in the first two of this season. There is a lot of “cleansing” and don’t let the initial premiere turn you off. Tuesday night’s episode is okay, not great and not bad – more like a light filler – to ease us back after the massive climax of the last finale.
We get answers and we get remaining tensions of the aftermath of the intervention – and if a fan (or not) is must see TV. But it’s the second episode we get back into the groove of the boys and their ways – or maybe it’s just because they have been away from us for so long.
In the second episode – Andrew Dice Clay has a fantastic guest role that will frustrate all Drama fans! Whether you love the grown up Turtle, frantic Drama, steady E or charming Vincent, THE BOYS ARE BACK!
Entourage will air on Tuesday at 9.30pm on Arena for its final season.
A movie to continue is currently being scripted.
