Teenagers Beau and Alex return to Coolibah for their school holidays, but letting the pair have a break is the last thing on Milton’s mind as he opens his unique brand of summer school. Mustering, driving cattle trucks, and horse riding are all lessons of the day, but you get the distinct impression that Alex would much rather be relaxing, reading gossip mags and painting her nails.
Things go from bad to worse for the teenage girl when Milton declares that catching salt-water crocs is next on the agenda. Completing the first day of holidays without being eaten is now the top priority for the pair.
Meanwhile, everyone seems to have forgotten that it’s Milton’s birthday, including Cristina who has been distracted by an internet shopping spree for the new baby.
Tipped off, she high tails it to Catherine 200km away with Little Milton, who is under the impression that it’s actually his birthday, as he selects toy helicopters and cowboy hats as suitable gifts. With a surprise planned, the pair head back to Coolibah to bake a cake for Dad.
