This is a fan-friendly “round robin” event featuring eight of the
world’s best tennis players. Played over four days, just before
the Open, it’s traditionally an entertaining competition with
a high calibre of players.

Wimbledon quarter finalist and rising Aussie superstar Bernard
Tomic comes back to Kooyong for his final preparations before
his Australian Open tilt. Former world No.1 Andy Roddick (now
ranked 15) will make a welcome return, along with 2010

Wimbledon finalist Tomas Berdych, Frenchmen Jo-Wilfried Tsonga
and Gael Monfils.

does this mean that home and away the early years is taking a break from jan 2 -16 or will it still air in brisbane

  • AndrewB

No, Home & Away Early Years is not on Jan 2-16 due to tennis coverage airing at varying times over different time zones. No Sons and Daughters either. Basically shows like Step by Step, Night Court, The Hogan Family, Growing Pains and Murphy Brown which can fit both before and after the tennis, depending on the market and time zone.

  • Gillespie

How reliable is your source of information regarding timezones, AndrewB??? Last year we had tennis on 7TWO starting 11am AEDT but that certainly didn’t interefere with H&A The Early Years at 9am at all!!

  • AndrewB

All information straight from a channel Seven press release, sent out to all who write about TV. Information about H&A Early years comes from 7TWO advanced TV guides, weeks 1 & 2 (Jan 1-7, Jan 8-15), 2012 – also direct from Seven.

2012, unlike previous years, it appears Seven is showing as much tennis as possible LIVE into all timezones, with 7TWO being used as the buffer for the Australian Open allowing live coverage to continue during the news, TT and h&A from Jan 23.

  • Gillespie

Is there a link to this press release??

  • AndrewB

Sorry press releases for media only.
