On Monday night (December 19), Nine News Sydney’s report about Christmas shopping and the hours stores will be open this week displayed “9am – 12pm” in all its trading hour graphics, like the one seen above.
12pm is 12 Midday – which, looking at their graphics, suggests that stores will be open just 3 hours!
12 midnight is 12am.
While the news was read as “open till midnight” the visuals kept on showing 12pm and not 12am as they should for a number of stores.
Better yet – to avoid the fact that many confuse that 12am is midnight and 12pm is midday – just show 9am – midnight – which is exactly what they did on rival news Seven.
Yet another mistake from Nine News.
This comes days after Nine News displayed Molly Meldrum as a singer in a report about his unfortunate situation.
