Stosur and Tomic ignite tennis ratings on 7TWO

7TWO Brisbane International ratings up a magic 29% on last year

First round wins to reigning US Open title holder Sam Stosur and Wimbledon quarter finalist Bernard Tomic have ignited ratings on 7TWO.

The national audience peaked at 461,000 last night as they watched Sam Stosur win in straight sets with an average audience of 268,000.

During the day session it was a similar story with Aussie Bernard Tomic also winning as the national audience peaked at 385,000 viewers. The average national audience grabbed 191,000 viewers, up 29% on the same day session last year.

Saul Shtein, Head of Sport commented: “The popularity of tennis on 7TWO continues to grow and exceed our expectations. After record ratings at Wimbledon, we’ve now seen a massive leap for the Brisbane International from last year. Nothing beats live sport on television, and there’s plenty more to come with Aussies Stosur and Tomic.”

7TWO’s coverage continues today and tonight from 8pm with Andy Murray taking to the court as well as a top-line women’s match between former World No. 1 Ana Ivanovic and reigning Australian Open Kim Clijsters. Hosted by Hamish McLachlan with special comments from a team including Todd Woodbridge, John Fitzgerald, Sam Smith and Rennae Stubbs.
