This year, The Open has been added to the LPGA tour, bringing the world’s elite female golfers to Australia for the opening event of the year, meaning a win today sets the mark for the year.
Hosting ABC TV’s exclusive live coverage of the four day tournament, from the prestigious Royal Melbourne Golf Club, is ABC TV’s Stephanie Brantz.

Since the tournament’s inception in 1974 the championship has continually attracted world golf’s elite players to compete for the Patricia Bridges Bowl.
Hot favourites for the 2012 Open are world number one and defending champion Yani Tseng.
With an LPGA quality field of national and international players competing in this year’s Open, ABC TV viewers can expect to see the most exciting golf and fantastic scoring.
