This week on HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, Barney and Robin find themselves in an uncomfortable situation when they hide a secret from their significant others. Meanwhile Marshall, Lily, and Ted attend a concert.
Reminiscing about the fact that they nearly kissed during the hurricane causes Barney and Robin to actually take the plunge this time, and kiss while sharing a cab. The kiss turns to sex, and Robin almost immediately begins to panic when she realises she’s cheated on Kevin. Barney doesn’t necessarily regret his actions, but he too feels terrible about betraying Nora. They eventually come to a decision about how to handle the situation, but both have trouble following through, and in the end are left with unresolved issues.
Meanwhile Marshall, Ted, and Lily attempt to recapture their glory days by attending a concert aimed at college kids. Ted acquires some marijuana, and while a pregnant Lily has to abstain, Marshall and Ted light up a joint. They end up on a harrowing, psychedelic journey when they attempt to get nachos for Lily.
