Could the fate now be sealed for Nine’s Excess Baggage?
In preliminary ratings results for Monday night (Feb 7), Excess Baggage does not even crack the top 20 for the night – an absolutely devastating result for a 7pm main channel time slot. That means less than 663,000 were tuned in.
Given last Thursday the show was watched by 555,000, the actual figure is no doubt in that sort of vicinity, possibly lower.
Looking at the 7.00pm time slot, Home & Away won at 1,064,000, followed by ABC News with 1,007 viewers. Biggest Loser reached 811,000 – up on last weeks’ average.
At 7.30, Seven’s My Kitchen Rules dominated at 1,565,000 – the highest so far for this years’ season (and possibly higher tonight with the best episode so far of the series). 7.30 on ABC1 was watched by 767,000, not too far behind Biggest Loser, but way ahead of Excess Baggage
Three repeat episodes of The Big Bang Theory were watched by between 728,000 and 902,000 viewers – the scheduled new episode was pulled at the last minute.
Seven easily won the night, Nine were second, but 7% behind Seven, while Ten landed 4th behind ABC1 (primary channel shares).
Some time today, Nine will act on Excess Baggage. Stay tuned for the news – will they do a sway with GO! and put Big Bang repeats back to 7pm on Nine and play out Excess Baggage on GO! Or will they move the show to late night? Or out altogether? Will The Block or Celebrity Apprentice be brought forward to start as early as next week?
At time of writing, Nine are yet to confirm their TV guide for next week – the first week of ratings.
